A sightseeing bicycle trip through the vineyards and cellar streets of Mikulčice connected with a guided tasting of wines, syrups, ciders and specialty wines or grapes in the family company Bartoník.

For all those who want to learn more about viticulture and winemaking in the Podluží region and are interested in visiting the cellar alleys and vineyard tracks unknown to tourists with a certified guide. It also includes a visit to the folk museum and the wine and viticulture museum in Mikulčice. At the end of the program you will be able to taste top wines and other specialties in a pleasant environment of a modern winery.

Programme:

Meet at 18:00 in the premises of the Tourist Information Centre Mikulčice. Return at about 21:00.

Programme content:

Interpretation of the current form of the wine-growing regions of the Czech Republic and their relationship to world viticulture.
A visit to the folk museum with an exhibition of local costumes and traditional furnishings of a typical Podluží farmhouse, including period furnishings.
Guided wine tasting with a tour of modern winery facilities, tasting of 5-7 samples of archive wines including an explanation of winemaking and cellar management.
Tasting of specialities - syrups, wine jelly, wine sour, grape musts and pralines filled with wine jelly.
A visit to the cellar alley "Tešická bouda". Demonstration of various architectural approaches to the construction of the cellar as part of the rich folk architecture of the Slovácko region.
Tour of the vineyards in the Kratiny and Kněžská wine tracks. Demonstration of various methods of vineyard cutting, acquaintance with the year-round maintenance of vineyards, including methods of their treatment against diseases and pests.
A visit to the cellar district "U chaty", a chance to see the daily work of local winemakers. The cellar district contains several cellar alleys, where there are several cellars of different sizes and designs.
Visit the unique Wine Museum in Mikulčice.
