Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora, s.r.o. is a family company that has vowed to restore the old glory and long tradition of growing grapes in the Kutná Hora region. The first written mention of winemaking in the Kutná Hora region comes from the Chronicle of Kosmas from 1101. In Kutná Hora and its surroundings, the company grows vines on 44 hectares of vineyards on the lines of U Všech svatých, Pod chrámem sv. Barbory, Nad Kapličkou and U Borek. It also produces grapes on 0.5 ha of the renewed vineyard Nad zámkem in Kuks. The local wines are full-bodied, mineral and spicy.
Gewürztraminer or Traminer rot is white wine. More precisely, it is a variety of white wine. So why is it called red? This is due to the reddish colour of the grapes. It is grown in all sub-areas, most of which can be found in the Velkopavlovice, Bzenec, Mikulov or Čáslav or Most regions. As with Pálava, Traminer will show its beauty, aroma and spiciness especially in the dry version.
