The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the most prestigious and largest international events in its category. The international wine competition was first held in 1994. In the first years, the judging took place in Brussels; in 2006, the venue began to be a travelling venue among the major wine regions of Europe. It has taken place in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Jesolo (Italy), Guimares (Portugal), Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Bratislava (Slovakia), Aiglé (Switzerland) and others. The Czech Republic has participated in the competition since its inception in 1994 and in 2020 the city of Brno was the host.
