The Karlštejn Vintage Festival has been held since 1996 and continues the pre-war tradition. In addition to wine and bourbon tasting, there is a rich programme. A parade of Gothic clothing, historical dance lessons, performances by fire-eaters, fakirs and court magicians will transport visitors to a time long gone. The path to the castle is lined with stalls reminiscent of period shops. A parade led by the Guildmaster and the Carlsejn winemakers, with the Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia Charles IV, his wife Eliška Pomořanska and a retinue of royal courtiers as the highlight of the programme. The procession will go from the area in front of the Karlštejn Wine Research Station to Karlštejn Castle. The imperial couple is accompanied by the royal heralds, fraucimore, royal drummers and jugglers. The participants are dressed in stylized historical costumes. On Saturday evening, visitors can also enjoy a mesmerizing fire show. The popular medieval knight theatre Traken will perform on the meadow next to the bridge by the Berounka River.
