Winemakers at the Castle 2019 - a great afternoon with a touch of history

The traditional festival Winemakers at the castle takes a new form this year and becomes an event for the whole family. As it has become a tradition, it will take place in the area of the Slavic Fortress in Mikulčice, but this year on a slightly modified date - July 13, 2019. From noon you can enjoy not only great wines, but also interesting music and enjoy a lot of other entertainment in a place where history literally walked. In the times of its greatest glory, in the 8th and 9th centuries, the Mikulčice fortress was one of the most developed places in Moravia and the Czech Republic. If you go here, you will definitely not be intoxicated only by wine, the genius loci of this place is really strong and there is also great music and other activities for children and adults.

This year's edition of the Vinaři na hradišti turns into a full-blooded genre festival, but of course it also remains a celebration of top wine not only from Mikulčice. You will be able to taste the production of a total of 15 winemakers from all over Moravia and the Czech Republic, but also wines from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. At least for one day, Mikulčice will take on its history and the Slavic settlement will become the centre of the world, even if only of the wine world! But beware, there is much more than just wine waiting for you. You don't have to be afraid to bring your offspring with you, a fun afternoon is prepared for them with the motto We are looking forward to the holidays. They will try archery, kayaking and many other activities at various places in the castle. In addition, there is a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.

A whole range of musical, folklore and cultural performances await everyone. This year for the first time on two stages. The highlight of the evening will be - as last year - Petr Bende & Band, this time accompanied by dulcimer Michal Grombiřík. Introducing Petr Bende would probably be carrying wood into the forest, as this singer and multi-instrumentalist has already released four albums and participated in many other projects. But before he takes over the main stage, there are performances by children from the primary school in Mikulčice, majorettes from Moravská Nová Ves called Neonky, a duet by Pavla Burešová and Pavel Prčík,

and of course there will be the Mikulčice Male Choir with their guests. At 3 p.m., the main stage will be abuzz with the lively rhythms of the musical group Naděje.And since we are in South Moravia, the evening cannot end any other way than with a traditional dulcimer discussion, which will be taken care of by the very successful Slovácko dulcimer music.

Of course, that is not all. The programme on the small and large stage will alternate and you will definitely not be bored for a moment. Because good wine is also accompanied by good food, in addition to the refreshment stands, a gastronomic show awaits you. Lovers of old cars and motorbikes will find their own during the presentation of vintage cars in the parking lot of the Mikulčice Slavonic Fortress. In short, if you come to the Slavic Fortress in Mikulčice this year on July 13th, you can be sure to enjoy an afternoon and evening full of amazing wine, good food, great music and many more unforgettable experiences.

STAN TOWN:

Possibility of erecting tents provided. During the event there will be the possibility to set up tents in the beautiful surroundings of the floodplain forests!

Tents are recommended to be erected during the event. After the event ends at 23.00 hours, there will be no lighting of the area where the tents can be erected.

TRAVEL:

By car, drive through the village of Mikulčice towards Slovanské hradiště and visitors are kindly asked to park their car in the designated car park. During the event, a shuttle service will be provided from the village of Mikulčice to the Slavic stronghold in Mikulčice.
