Další popis

The vintage takes place in the grounds of Roudnice Castle and the adjacent gardens. The local chateau winery is located directly in the chateau building - in the medieval cellars of the original Romanesque castle. Under the administration of the Lobkowicz family, it has been producing wine since 1603. Vines are grown in nearby vineyards, the most famous of which is the historic Sovice vineyard. This vineyard has been used since the Middle Ages. The town decided to commemorate the centuries-long connection between Roudnice nad Labem and wine by planting a new vineyard in the heart of the town together with the Lobkowicz Chateau Winery. With this step they joined the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the birth of King Charles IV - the promoter of viticulture in the Czech lands. This vineyard is planted with the Rubinet grape variety in head-to-head vines - the way vines were managed in Charles' time. The individual heads are marked with the names of patrons among the citizens of Roudnice and lovers of Roudnice wine.
