The Radyně Wine Festival presents wines and winemaking in the Czech Republic and promotes the development of tourism in the wine industry. The venue of the event was chosen just below Radyní Castle, founded by the most important ruler of the Czech state, the Czech king and emperor Charles IV, who laid the foundations for the cultivation of quality grapes and contributed to the development of winemaking in Bohemia. The Radyně Wine Festival introduces the general public to quality Czech winemaking through the presentation, tasting and sale of wine and wine products from domestic winemakers. Each visitor of legal age will receive his or her own original wine glass with the town emblem of Stary Plzenec as part of the purchased ticket, from which he or she will be able to taste wine directly from individual winemakers. The ticket is also valid for a tour of the Radyně Castle. A rich cultural programme is prepared throughout the event. Underage visitors will be admitted to the festivities free of charge and will be able to take advantage of the entertainment programme in the adjacent Tourist Service Centre
