The Slovácko wine sub-region is one of the most interesting and diverse wine regions in the Czech Republic. It stretches along the southern and southeastern slopes of the White Carpathians, and this region offers a unique microclimate that gives the wines their unique character. In addition to the hills and valleys, the region is also known for its Moravian Sahara, which contributes to its exceptional terroir, suitable for both white and red wines.
The local vineyards produce mainly white wines with excellent acidity and fruity notes, the most important varieties being Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Among the red wines, it is mainly Franconia and Pinot Noir (Pinot Noir Blanc) that achieve excellent quality here thanks to the specific climatic conditions and soil composition.
