Cistercian Seal

Competition and exhibition of mass and kosher wines

The civic association of MATICE VELEHRADSKÁ has the pleasure to organize a competition and exhibition of mass and kosher wines called the Cistercian Seal. This event, which will be held in the beginning of November, is officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.

The prime aim of this event is to support sale and production of mass and kosher wines, mediating the exchange of experience in the field of viticulture and deepening of business and social relations between wine dealers and consumers. Also, this event will contribute to cultural exchange.
Only wines that are in accordance with valid legal regulations and are recognized as mass or kosher wines can apply for the competition. The competition will be made up of four categories:
- still white wine with no regard to residual sugar
- still rosé wine with no regard to residual sugar
- still red wine with no regard to residual sugar
- ice wine, straw wine, selection of grapes (reserve wine) and selection of cibet

Every participant is supposed to submit two copies of the application form and samples in three adjusted bottles to the collection point: Fara Velehrad, Stojanovo nádvoří 206, 687 06 Velehrad,
Czech Republic.

The deadline for submission is 25 October 2007. The evaluation will take place on 28 October 2007 and the exhibition as well as the award ceremony is scheduled for 3 November 2007 in the premises of the Stojan Gymnasium in Velehrad. For the evaluation the 100 - point O.I.V. system will be used. Winners that are unable to attend the ceremony will be notified by mail.

Awarded wines will be entitled to use the mark of the pertinent seal with which the successful participants (winners) will be provided on the basis of their order to MATICE VELEHRADSKÁ and after they pay expenses related with its manufacture and distribution.
