Wine Salon 2018 has opened to the public
On the last Saturday of January, this year on the 27th, the gates to the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic have traditionally opened. There you may taste the one hundred best wines from Moravia and the Czech lands. This is a tasting exhibition of the hundred best wines selected by specialists in the field for our biggest and most important wine competition.
Our best wines are presented in the reconstructed underground premises of the state-owned chateau in Valtice and serve not only for the purpose of browsing and learning something about the subject, but primarily for tasting and appreciating of wine. The victorious wines will be on display here during the entire year and it will be possible to taste and compare them in free or otherwise tutored tastings conducted by an expert sommelier. Naturally enough there will be the possibility of buying your chosen wines.
As part of the Wine Salon there is also the learning exhibition devoted to wine production and the wine trade, including a sales point for gifts, wine literature, tasting glasses and sommelier‘s equipment.
The Wine Salon ranks amongst the best tourist destinations in the Czech Republic that have connections with viti- /viniculture. Not in vain is the Wine Salon the holder of the title TOP vinous destination of the Czech Republic and annually several of its tasting programmes are attended by some 23,000 visitors.

Tuesday – Thursday: 9:30 - 17:00
Friday – Saturday: 10:30 - 18:00
Sunday (June – September): 10:30 - 17:00
Admission
Visitors have the choice of several tasting programmes:
A – Free tasting
Unique opportunity to sample any of the wines on display (other than sparkling wines and wines with special attributes). One bottle from every wine on display is always open. During the tasting a sommelier will be on hand to provide the visitor with information on the wines from individual wineries.
A1 – Free tasting standard – price 399 CZK (standard duration of the tasting is 90 minutes)
A2 – Free tasting extended – price 499 CZK (extended duration of the tasting to 150 minutes)
B – Tasting “By The Glass“
The possibility of individually tasting a selection of up to 16 wines with the use of the modern “By The Glass“ dispenser. The number of wines for tasting depends on the amount of credit purchased.
B1 – price 100 CZK (programme duration is approximately 15–20 minutes, amount of credit 100 CZK)
B2 – price 250 CZK (programme duration is approximately 20-25 minutes, amount of credit 250 CZK)
C – Tutored tasting
Programmes for tasting selected samples tutored by a sommelier. The number of participants in this programme is a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 45 persons. It is advisable to arrange the times of a tutored tasting in advance. The time of tasting cannot be guaranteed without a prior reservation.
C1 - price 160 CZK
Selected samples of 4 white and 4 red varietal wines according to the sommelier’s choice (other than sparkling wines and naturally sweet wines). Programme duration is approximately 20-30 minutes.
C2 - price 270 CZK
Selected samples of 5 white and 4 red varietal wines and 1 naturally sweet wine according to the sommelier’s choice. Programme duration is approximately 40-50 minutes.
