The young family winery Moravčík's Wines is located under the peaks of Pálava in the village of Horní Věstonice, where all our vineyards are located. We specialize in the production of white wines from our own vineyards with regulated harvests, our domain are the Pálava, Riesling, Aurelius and Sauvignon varieties, but in our vineyards we have a whole rich range of varieties. We process grapes using modern winemaking technology of controlled fermentation.

Establishment
The family winery was founded on the basis of a longer tradition by Ing. Vladislav Moravčík in 1997. He started with one hectare of vineyards. In 2002, his father handed over the growing winery to his sons Vladislav and Miroslav, who split the business, marketing and vineyard management between them, but manage the cellar together. In recent years, the Moravčíks have planted additional vineyards and now farm nine hectares in an integrated way, six of which are in production. Three more hectares are ready for planting in the coming years. The specialisation of the winery is based entirely on local conditions (all the wines originate in the Horní Věstonice area), so that 30% of the varietal composition is based on Pálava and Riesling. The other wide range of 25 varieties is based on the idea of showing wine lovers how each variety expresses itself on the local limestone bedrock. Vinification is carried out in a gentle, rapid and non-stressful way, around 40% of the production is prepared using selected yeasts (especially for gastronomic customers), while the rest is made with natural yeasts for longer ageing. The white wines are aged in stainless steel tanks, the reds for a year in classic oak barrels. Small batches of attribute wines all go into bottles. Production volume is around 40,000 bottles, with a target capacity of 75,000 bottles. Since the 2011 vintage, the winery has been operating a new modern hall incorporating the entire technological process. In 2008, the Moravčíks opened a newly built archive cellar with the possibility of organising tastings and accommodation for sixteen visitors. A speciality is Hornuše sparkling wine, made using the classic bottle fermentation method, named after a mystical figure - a statue from Horní Věstonice similar to the Venus of Dolnověstonice. Unfortunately, this statue has not yet been found, but according to the rule that every important woman should have her own important drink, its discovery is already in the pipeline.
