The winery of Petr Bunzi is a family-run company founded in 1993 in Bzenec. The location of Bzenec on the very edge of the Chřiby mountains between Kyjov and Veselí nad Moravou is ideal for growing grapes, which has a long tradition here. The winery has young grassy vineyards of fourteen hectares on the southern and south-western slopes in the cadastre of Bzenec at an altitude of 220-275 metres above sea level. The soils are mostly fertile loess, which grades into heavy clay on the slope horizon. The varietal composition of the vineyards is very varied, with white varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Muscat of Moravia, Tramín Red, Müller-Thurgau, Veltliner Green, Irsai Oliver and the unforgettable Riesling (formerly known as Bzenecká Lipka). Blue varieties include Blue Portugal, Frankovka, André, Dornfelder and Pinot Noir. The Bunž family used to produce and bottle wine in several rented cellars, but since 2011 they have been farming in their own newly built and modernly equipped operation on the outskirts of Bzenec. They use a new pneumatic press and technology made mostly of stainless steel, for white wines the method of controlled fermentation, for red wines apple-milk fermentation takes place. Tastings for groups are organised by the winery in a cellar in the Baráky area. Some of the wines are aged in oak barrels here. The wide range of wines includes quality wines, quality wines, as well as ice and onion wines. Customers can also choose from a rich archive. In 2000, the Bunž family introduced the production of the trademark Bunžolé wine, which quickly became known for its spiciness. They also resumed production of the formerly popular sparkling wine Vincůr, and added white and rosé sparkling wines and non-alcoholic grape must to the range, which was awarded the Traditional Slovak Product label in 2014.
