Specialties in the menu

We own the Plachta vineyard, which has always been an expression of the prestige of the Blatnik winery. Already in the 16th century, the important townsmen from Uherské Hradiště, Kroměříž and Uherský Brod had their vineyards in this route. Jan Amos Komenský, the 'teacher of nations', also had his vineyard in this area. He inherited it in 1604 from his father. On this famous area, apart from the varieties Frankovka and Svatovavřinecké, in 2001 we planted the first bushes of the MERLOT variety, which comes from France and is close to the Cabernet Franc variety. This variety had not been grown in the country before or was very rarely found. We were all discouraged from growing MERLOT because the local climatic conditions are not ideal for growing it. However, we went hard for it and planted this variety on almost 9 hectares. With this planting we became the largest MERLOT growers in the Czech Republic. The very first harvest, which we harvested in 2004, was unique and produced an excellent wine. Since then, MERLOT from Blatnice Plachet has won awards at prestigious exhibitions and great appreciation from its consumers.
