Litoměřice Castle, as the Shrine of Czech winemaking, serves to spread the region's winemaking tradition, which dates back to the time of Czech King Charles IV. The castle wine shop offers wine lovers a wide range of Czech and Moravian wines not only for sale but also for tasting. The wines are kept in the ideal conditions of the cellars, which are connected to a stylish tasting room with original stone tiles and vaulted ceilings. At the heart of the castle is a modern wine exhibition, which contains a cross-section of the history of Czech winemaking and a description of the wine production process. Impressive are not only the large-format photographs, but also the narration of Charles IV (in 3D) about the local vineyards. The tours are enriched by knowledge games and ancient period tools used in winemaking. Thanks to the castle, Litoměřice is becoming a centre of congress tourism. This is made possible by a modern conference hall with preserved Gothic artefacts. Attractive facilities are also offered by a lounge connected to the historical monument of the 14th century chapel, where, according to preserved historical sources, Charles IV prayed. The castle also includes a stylish Castle Wine Bar with an entrance from Na Valech Street.

Tasting of five samples of Czech wines within the exhibition Journey to Wine with interpretation. The tasting must be added to the tour of the exposition. The price of the exposition is 50 CZK, the price of the exposition including the tasting is 170 CZK (20 persons or more)

Wine tasting (1 sample)

As a rule, once a month we organize guided wine tastings under the name of Wine Talks in cooperation with a selected winery. In the summer months, these tastings are held "in the open air" in the courtyard of the Gothic castle. During the rest of the year, they take place in the historic cellars of the Gothic castle, in a tasting room set up for this purpose. The tasting is accompanied by recorded folk music and refreshments. You can find out about upcoming tastings on the Litoměřice Castle website in the Programme section. The price of the tasting depends on the wines offered, the number of samples and the type of refreshments. Usually it is around 320 CZK/person.
