The Haman Winery is a young dynamic winery that was established in 2016. The company is based in the traditional wine-growing village of Rakvice, located in the heart of the renowned Velkopavlovice wine sub-region in South Moravia. The basic raw material for wine production is obtained from its own vineyards, which it processes in Rakvice from more than 1 ha of its own vineyards. The winery focuses on appellation wines, starting with an annual production of around 4,000 bottles. In marketing, the company relies on naturalness and simplicity. Haman Winery enters the market with the wines of the 2016 vintage. History of the winery: I started my own winery in April 2016, when I was 19 years old. I was inspired to start the winery by my passion for this work, as a young boy I used to help in the vineyards with my parents, when we had 18 acres (about 1000 heads). With more frequent visits to the vineyards, my hobby began to turn into a duty, because my parents had other things to do and the work was left to me. At the age of 15, I took over all the care of the vineyards and the duties suddenly became a hobby. My love for the vineyard developed more and more and I got the idea why not try to make my own wine. I set this idea as a goal and at the age of 15 I made my first wine. ◾Veltliner green ◾Müller Thurgau ◾Tramin red When I started my first production, I lacked all the necessary things to make wine, but since I have good friends, they lent me all the necessary things. Over time I got my own grape press, my own tanks and put all my own energy and finances into the cellar, which I started to expand. I'm sure you all know that flavor, color and aroma are also essential to winemaking, so that quality wines have a "sparkle", so I started attending regular wine tastings in the area with friends and regular "tastings" in our cellars, where we tasted our own wines almost every weekend. We are very familiar with the saying: "You have to drink wine, but with reason." A big role model for me was my grandfather, who loved wine and was fully committed to wine. He started his own wine cellar and put his whole life into winemaking. I was motivated by his love of vineyards and I saw myself in him as a child and I hope that I will thrive as he did, that people will like the wines and that they will love to visit my winery. I currently have over 1 hectare (about 4500 heads) and I continue to plant new vineyards. I am looking for new land to buy or lease so I can expand the vineyards. For the 2016 vintage I also plan to expand my wine production to about 3000-5000 bottles from 6-8 other varieties of Moravian grapes. I hope that my dream will come true and my winery will grow and have regular customers. Haman Winery
