The iconic view of Pálava, the architecture and the characteristic wines, appreciated in the country and in the world, are the main features of the winery in Popice u Hustopečí. A place where vines have been cultivated for centuries is now a place where modern winemaking is demonstrated: careful work with the soil and vineyards, hand harvesting of grapes, gentle processing, making wine with self-confidence and the widest possible openness to people coming to enjoy it all in the Sonberian motto "Wines with all the senses".
Pálava was cultivated by Ing. Josef Veverka by crossing the varieties Gewürztraminer and Müller Thurgau. Probably the best results are achieved mainly in the Mikulov subregion, in the vicinity of the municipalities of Perná, Pavlov or Bulhary, then in Lechovice, Popice or Čejkovice. Pálava is often automatically perceived as a sweet wine, i.e. with a higher residual sugar but this is not always the rule. In the dry version we discover the charm and beauty of this variety.
