About winemaker

The family winery wrote its beginning in 2001. After graduating from MZLU, Jan Plaček expanded the cellar capacity and in 2006 the winery processed the entire harvest for the first time. The Placek family recently moved the winery to a modern facility near the original cellar. The complex includes production, storage and representative sales and tasting areas. There is, for example, a glass-enclosed barrique hall, air-conditioned warehouses, a shop and a vaulted tasting cellar with a fireplace below. The winery produces quality and specialty wines from its own grapes and from the vineyards of Kounick. With the local traditional Frankovka, the Placoks really know how to win - it is regularly offered as a red wine, rosé and claret. In addition, they also offer sparkling wines made using the traditional method and non-alcoholic grape must. The production volume rose to 60,000 bottles in the 2015 vintage (new bottling line from 2016), with a further portion being supplied to the market in cask form or in 5 litre bag-in-boxes. All white and rosé wines are adjusted into bottles with screw caps. Sales are predominantly from the cellar to direct consumers, wine shops and restaurants. From the 2015 harvest, virgin wines from the Hibernal, Savilon, Solaris and Cabernet Cortis varieties were added to the range. The wines can be tasted in a relaxed atmosphere, and Plačkovi also offers the possibility of organizing corporate events and business meetings in a stylish cellar with a wine program, refreshments and guided tasting led personally by the winemaker. There is a modern meeting room for smaller groups.
