About winemaker

A family-run wine company, one of the first to be established just after 1989, we now manage about 15 hectares of vineyards. Our village Krumvíř belongs to the Velkopavlovice wine sub-region, which allows its conditions for growing a wide range of varieties. It is this great variety of varieties, together with a range of older wines, that characterises our winery. Our production focuses mainly on quality wines with a distinctive character and vintage wines. To a lesser extent, we also produce barrique and ice wines. We supply wines to a selected network of wine shops, catering, but also to private customers. Our production has won numerous awards not only at domestic exhibitions, but also abroad. Recently, we have won gold medals at world competitions in France and Brussels. Our wines have also been honoured by being served during official visits, for example, to Hillary Clinton, Prince Charles and Emperor Akihito of Japan. In 2009, we won the most important award for us, the Winemaker of the Year of the Czech Republic 2009, and a year later we were the first to defend this title.

Basic characteristics of wine

Pinot Gris is known all over the world. Pinot comes from the French pin as the pine cone resembles the shape of a pinot grape. Pinot Gris is also interesting by the fact that although it is a white wine, the color of the grape is almost blue, more precisely gray-blue-red. It is widespread in all sub-areas, mostly in the Velkopavlovice region.
