The newly established U Dvou Lip Winery farms 35 hectares of vineyards near the village of Hýsly and focuses on the production of organic and appellation wines. When growing grapes, great emphasis is placed on the careful treatment of the unique landscape in this picturesque corner of Slovácko. The dominant feature of the vineyards in the foothills of the Chřibý Mountains is the statue of St. John of Nepomuk. This place, and the story of Joan and great love associated with it, inspired the band Čechomor to compose the song Johančiny tears.
Sauvignon belongs among the most popular three white wines together with the Chardonnay and Riesling varieties. It is assumed that it comes from the French region of Bordeaux or from the Loire region. The most typical Sauvignons can be found in the Znojmo or Mikulov region.
