The company VINNÉ SKLEPY MARŠOVICE v.o.s. was established in 1998. The winery was founded by Eduard Novotný and his father-in-law Oldřich Tropp. Subsequently, it is owned by brothers-in-law Václav Tropp and Eduard Novotný, who together strive to grow wine according to traditional practices using modern technology. The main goal of the family winery is to continue the long tradition of grape growing in the village. Currently, the company manages 35 hectares of vineyards. Annual wine production is approximately 120 000 litres.
The variety was bred by the director of the wine school in Klosterneuburg in Austria, Dr. F. Zweigelt in 1922 and its expansion to other countries was credited after the Second World War to Dr. Lenz Moser.
