At the foot of the Chřibý Mountains, on the edge of the picturesque village of Skalka, you will find the Skalák Wine Cellars, whose history dates back to the 1970s. Now the winery offers a large space for weddings, corporate events and private celebrations. This place is also suitable for recreation. The surrounding area is suitable for both road and mountain biking. The most frequent tourist destinations are various rock formations or castles in Chřiby. The demanding ones can choose the highest point of Chřiby Brdo (587m above sea level) with a stone lookout tower as a destination.
Pálava was cultivated by Ing. Josef Veverka by crossing the varieties Gewürztraminer and Müller Thurgau. Probably the best results are achieved mainly in the Mikulov subregion, in the vicinity of the municipalities of Perná, Pavlov or Bulhary, then in Lechovice, Popice or Čejkovice. Pálava is often automatically perceived as a sweet wine, i.e. with a higher residual sugar but this is not always the rule. In the dry version we discover the charm and beauty of this variety.
