About winemaker
Jiří Šmerák builds on the experience of previous generations of family winemakers. Jiří Šmerák has been successfully involved in winemaking and viticulture since he was 16 years old. Winemaking and viticulture became the main activity of the company in 1998. Since this year, you can find wine from our production on sale all over the Czech Republic. The functioning of the winery is based on family experience and contacts, on the love for wine, for the landscape and the people who live here. That is why the cultivation of vines and the production of wine from them is carried out in the most nature-friendly way.
Basic characteristics of wine
Pinot Gris is known all over the world. Pinot comes from the French pin as the pine cone resembles the shape of a pinot grape. Pinot Gris is also interesting by the fact that although it is a white wine, the color of the grape is almost blue, more precisely gray-blue-red. It is widespread in all sub-areas, mostly in the Velkopavlovice region.
