The production of this company follows the centuries-old tradition of the Benedictine monastery of Rajhrad and its production of monastery wines. The monastery itself was founded in 1048 and one of the wine cellars, built between 1690 and 1692, is still used for wine production today. The location of the current vineyards is also identical to the land where the monastery of Rajhrad cultivated vines five hundred years ago. For this reason, the labels of the local wines bear the trademark 'Rajhrad monastery wines'.
Pinot Gris is known all over the world. Pinot comes from the French pin as the pine cone resembles the shape of a pinot grape. Pinot Gris is also interesting by the fact that although it is a white wine, the color of the grape is almost blue, more precisely gray-blue-red. It is widespread in all sub-areas, mostly in the Velkopavlovice region.
