The tradition of the Grmolec family winery in Moravian Slovácko dates back to 1889, when František Grmolec planted the first vine and later, together with his son Jan, started producing vine wines in one of the oldest stone cellars in Hovorany. This tradition was gradually continued by Ing. Josef Grmolec, who planted new vineyards in 1976 and 1986. In 1983, he began to build a new cellar farm. In recent years, he has been cultivating vines and making wine with his youngest son Bronislav.
Welschreisling is an old and highly prized variety of unknown origin. It is one of the most cultivated in our country (8.5% of the total area of vineyards). Excellent terroir for "Vlašák" is offered mainly by the Pálavské vrchy, Mikulov, Slovácko and Velkopavlovice subregions or the Šobes vineyard in the Znojmo region.
