One sun shines on our vineyards. However, they give incredibly varied wines outstanding in their original fruity tones and spiciness, a rich spectrum of aromatic agents and a harmonic full taste. This is the reason why Moravian and Bohemian wines are so popular among lovers of the quality and optimally matured wines.
The label "Wines from Moravia" ("Vína z Moravy") and "Wines from Bohemia" ("Vína z Čech") is a registered trademark owned by National wine centre of the Czech Republic (the owner of exclusive licence is the Winegrowers' Fund). The label "Wines from Moravia" and "Wines from Bohemia" is used for promotion of wines from the wine-growing regions in the Czech Republic – the Moravia wine-growing region and the Bohemia wine-growing region. It can be used subject to the obligatory conditions only on bottled wines that were approved by the expert committee of the State agricultural and food inspection as quality wines or predicate wines. For these wine categories the origin of grapes is under a strict control. Of course the quality of wine is also controlled – the expert committee approves the sensory quality of wine before it is put on the market.
Wines in Moravia have had a long tradition already since the Romans in the 3rd century AD. Together with wines from Bohemia they have been popular in Europe already since Middle Ages. During the last ten years the wines from Moravia and Bohemia went through a huge quality development and today are among the best in Europe. Moravian and Bohemian wines are characterised by their interesting spectrum of aromas, rich extractive agents and a harmony of a full taste with fresh acids of white wines. Lately also red wines are getting more popular, which are thanks to the modern processing technology full and distinct, however at the same time smooth and velvety, with an outstanding fruity aroma. The trend of the future is also in pink wines – beautiful not only thanks to their colour but also thanks to their exceptional youthful character. The St. Martin's wine goes through its Renaissance – it is young wine, where the period between the grape picking and introduction on the market took only a few weeks, however, it is the first full representative of a new year of wines from Moravia and Bohemia.
