Characteristics of the trail
Length of the trail: 115 km
Podluží wine trail which lies in the south part of the Slovácko wine sub-region is widely spread out astride the plateau of this region known for its distinctive folklore.
The variegated track alternates between roads and picturesque sections right among the vineyards, a cooling stretch along a lakeside bank as well as the welcoming shade of the Doubrava woodlands. Almost everywhere in Podluží you will find hospitable winemakers and glinting wine; in Prušánky’s wine cellar settlement Nechory and the “Búdy” of Mikulčice there are also many beautiful examples of cellar architecture. The southern part of the trail which sets off from Břeclav, presents two important settlements belonging to the Greater Moravian colonies of Pohansko and Valy u Mikulčic, the northern edge of the Podluží wine trail also comprises colourful sections and the core of the Moravian-Slovakia “folklore”.
