About the winery
At Baraque Winery, we describe wines not only sensorially, but we also bring a bit of poetry to their descriptions and, following the example of Karel Čapek, liken them to human characters and personalities. In our assortment you will find, for example, "The Humble Pilgrim", "The Opera Singer" or "The Noble Noblewoman". The French name of the winery is, among other things, the name of a dream of a winery surrounded by vineyards. It materialized in the form of a production building and a representative space of the architecturally attractive Baraque wine gallery near the Slunečná lookout tower in Velké Pavlovice.
On the road from Velké Pavlovice to Bořetice, just before the sign "end of the village", turn left between the vineyards.

The first idea to start our own winery dates back to 2010, when we decided to start Baraque Winery with the idea that people should drink good wine, regardless of whether they understand it. The French form of the vernacular word barrack (which is what we call the old farmhouses where we started making wine) is also the name of a dream of a French-style winery surrounded by vineyards and a desire to make great red wines. The first wines we started making for sale were those from the 2013 vintage, and that's also when we started giving our wines personalities. Because each wine, like people, is unique in its character. That's also when we started offering seating in our emblematic wine cellar in Bořetice. Since then, a number of wines with personality have flown out of our cellar door, from Beloved (Pinot Gris 2015) and Dreamy Lover (Riesling 2015) to Satisfied Mom (Rosé Slunečná 2016) to Beach Lounger (Blanc de Pinot Noir 2016) and on and on. We have moved from the "barrack" to a new production hall in Velké Pavlovice, where you will also find our representative Baraque Wine Gallery. For easier orientation we divide the wines into three lines. The first range is called Intensive, which includes fresh and fruity wines, suitable for lighter dishes such as fish or cheese. The Elegant series are more complex wines, designed for higher gastronomy and archiving. For true connoisseurs and lovers of natural wines, there is a third range, for which we have chosen the name Punk.

Specialties in the menu
The flagship of our winery is the Děvín variety. Depending on the vintage, we produce it in different qualities, from full-bodied dry wines to intensely aromatic wines with residual sugar.
Additional offer
We still prefer to meet wine lovers in person, so we offer a sitting in the wine cellar with a guided tasting led mostly by the winemaker's wife. In the wine gallery we also offer coffee, desserts, chocolates, pates and other assortments.
