We are a biodynamic winery from Znojmo with 2.5 hectares of vineyards in two locations on the edge of the Podyjí National Park (one of the vineyards has a granitic primitive subsoil, the other is a typical loess). The grapes are trampled or crushed with a hand mill. All wines are cured on the skins (a few days or a month, wines produced in kvevri for a year), then pressed on a handmade wooden press. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels or in a fermenter without additives or selected yeasts. The wines are aged for a long time on yeast, bottled without filtration and sulphurised only at bottling.
Establishment
Vino Loigi is a small winery in Znojmo, founded by Vladimír Lojda in 2014 after years of experience. The winery focuses on the production of wines using traditional methods, with minimal use of technology and chemistry and according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. The winery processes grapes from 2.5 hectares of its own vineyards located near the Podyjí National Park: Popice - Pod Lesem (RR, MT, TČ) and Havraníky - Skalky (VZ, CH, SG). The grapes are always harvested by hand into small crates and transported quickly and gently for processing. The wines are vinified and trained in the cellar on Wenceslas Square in the historic centre of Znojmo and they gain bottle maturity in the ideal conditions of the deep sandstone cellar in Havraníky. The wines are spontaneously fermented in barrels and aged for a long time on yeast. An important part of the production consists of orange wines, the most prominent representative of which are wines produced in the traditional Georgian kvevri.
