At the beginning of summer in the Valtice National Wine Centre in cooperation with the Sommelier Magazine and with the support of the Winegrowers Fund the record number of 159 wine samples was collected. The wines had to undergo the competition assessment in the wine-tasting cabins of the Higher Federal Institute for viticulture and fruit-growing in Klosterneuburg. “We gained the right to nominate the wine-tasters for the competition committees who successfully passed the so-called European exams for wine assessment or the SZPI exams,” said the co-organizer for the Czech Republic JUDr. Luboš Bárta. “Altogether 25 evaluators from the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated in the basic assessment during two weeks in August in Klosterneuburg and in the final Master Tasting in Vienna,” he added.
